Ukrainian Fashion Week: Ostel

Designer Olya Stelmakhova‘s (Ольга Стельмахова) brand Ostel is yet another relative newcomer both to Kiev’s Ukrainian Fashion Week and to the fashion show world, and although the designer herself is still quite young, her aesthetic shows a refined, certainly grown-up sensibility (which this critic, at least, found highly alluring).
Like some of the other collections we’ve seen thus far out of the city for the F/W 2017 season, there seems to be an element of the East thrown into the mix, as well as some of the South American texture we’ve heard people ruminating on of late.
In actuality, according to the UFW site, the designer titled her collection “Liberte”, which I guess is a clue towards the global-trotting, slouchy, masculine-inspired shapes that feel at once free and exceedingly high-fashion.
