although i’m happy they’re in spain with so many other amazing, exceptionally awesome ateliers, i nevertheless couldn’t help but find the a/w 2013 ailanto show presented at madrid fashion week a little bit better suited, perhaps, for london. after their s/s 2013 presentation, with its wearable-yet-challenging aesthetic that’s highly artistic, i got to thinking that this would likely be one of the houses to head for a more ‘artsy’ event, as lfw tends to be known. but! nevertheless, i’m always pleased when designers chose to stay at home in lieu of taking it bigger, and though we don’t really have time to talk about the range at length, i’ll also say the amazing prints rivaled some of the stuff we saw in london. so, like, there.
